Ms. Easter is the Senior Homeownership Specialist for the HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton. She supervises the homeownership specialist staff, provides housing counseling for foreclosure prevention as well as homeownership and teaches the Financial Fitness Class.
The HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton has successfully assisted hundreds of homeowners in saving their homes from foreclosure through loan modification, forbearance plans and rescue funds. The HomeOwnership Center currently partners with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency in the implementation of the Ohio Save The Dream’s Restoring Stability program.
Ms. Easter has over 8 years of experience in the housing counseling field. Prior to her career move to the housing industry she worked in the field of social services for over 20 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Randall J. Smith
Mr. Smith has served as Senior Attorney for the Predatory Lending Solutions Project at the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center since December 2007. In that position he has provided foreclosure representation and advice for victims of predatory lending, and he made community education presentations and conducted CLEs on homeowner representation in residential foreclosure litigation.
Prior to joining the staff at MVFHC, he was the in-house counsel for the Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority, providing advice and representation on employment issues, regulatory interpretation, contract review and drafting, employment issues, reasonable accommodation compliance, and prosecuted all tenant evictions. He came to DMHA after fifteen years of being a staff/managing attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Dayton/Legal Aid of Western Ohio, working primarily in their housing unit. He was the law director for the city of Greenville, Ohio, and for seven years was in private practice with the firm of Smith and Quance.
Mr. Smith holds a B.A. from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio, and a J.D. from Case Western School of Law, Cleveland, Ohio. He is currently admitted to the Ohio Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He currently resides with his four dogs in Dayton, Ohio, in a neighborhood devastated by the foreclosure crisis.
Sarah N. Weber
Ms. Weber is a Staff Attorney for the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center’s Predatory Lending Solutions Project. She has more than 10 years of legal experience in various capacities. At MVFHC she has provided foreclosure representation and advice for victims of predatory lending, and she has made community education presentations and conducted CLEs regarding homeowner representation in residential foreclosure litigation.
Prior to joining the staff at MVFHC, Ms. Weber worked in the Missouri Public Defender’s Office, Appellate/Post-Conviction Relief Division and Trial Division, for seven years. She received her B.A. in Political Science/Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude) from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota, and her J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law, Lincoln, Nebraska. She is currently admitted to the Ohio Bar and the U.S. Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Andrew J. Zeigler
Mr. Zeigler has been an Attorney with the law firm of Thompson and DeVeny Co., L.P.A. in Dayton, Ohio, since 2006. His practice includes the following areas of law: Consumer and Small Business Bankruptcy, Financing and Real Estate, Foreclosure Defense, Consumer Law (emphasis on Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Act claims and disputes) and General Civil Litigation.
He received a B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University (2002) and a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law (2006). He is admitted to the following state and federal bars: Ohio, Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Ohio and Dayton Bar Associations, the Thomas F. Waldron American Bankruptcy Law Forum and the National Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys. As of 2015, Mr. Ziegler has been certified by the American Board of Certification as a Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy Law, one of only 11 such specialists in Ohio.
