Robert Adams was a tenured professor of Political Science at Wright State University and a founder and long-time member of the Fair Housing Center. He served on the board of the Fair Housing Center for more than 10 years, including several terms as Chair of the Board during a number of organizational transitions. The Robert Adams award was first given in 2006 to Bob himself, posthumously after his untimely death and in recognition of the significant contributions that he made to the Miami Valley community through his leadership and volunteer service. Since 2006 the award has only been given one other time, and it is bestowed selectively upon an individual who, through his or her efforts, honors the memory and embodies the spirit of Bob Adams and his commitment to equal housing opportunity.

We're really sorry to have called our Waikiki-style fundraiser party a "Tiki Party" in years past. As you may or may not know, in Maori mythology Tiki is the first man. Our appropriation of this Maori cultural symbol was in no way meant to disrespect the Maori people.
