Lunch IncludedThe Montgomery County Office of Reentry—through its Reentry Council Housing Subcommittee—is hosting a free housing workshop for service providers, social workers, and landlords to give them tools to better house at-risk populations in Dayton and surrounding areas. Come to this free session to earn continuing education (CE)* credit and to learn how to assist citizens returning from incarceration, and gain skills to help these clients break through barriers preventing them from attaining decent housing and prevent homelessness. This year’s theme, “Forgotten and Overlooked—Young and Older Adults” will feature speakers whose profession deals with either or both Older Adults or Younger People who are at risk for homelessness, have a criminal history and are at risk or have mental disabilities and illnesses. Purpose: Assist any professional or volunteer whose work intersects with assisting citizens returning from incarceration to gain skills in working with both younger and older people facing housing and job barriers. Impact Goal of event: to help these younger and older people break through barriers preventing them from attaining decent housing and jobs and ultimately to prevent homelessness. Objectives: Attendees will - Resources for referrals for clients experiencing barriers
- Practical strategies to share with clients experiencing barriers
- Information about the Offices of Reentry at the local and state levels
- Information about programming that exists locally and statewide to assist their clients
- *3 Clock Hours for Licensees with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (pending).

About the Montgomery County Office of Reentry:The Montgomery County Office of Reentry works with a variety of community stakeholders to provide programming and services to the men and women who are returning to Montgomery County from incarceration. The Montgomery County Reentry Collaborative serves as a community education assembly which promotes reentry provider networking, organizational support via resource building, and long-term sustainability through leveraged partnerships.
